SFDA held videoconference on distribution of Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2010 Edition)



On January 25, 2010, the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) held a videoconference on the distribution of Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2010 Edition). SFDA Deputy Commissioner Wu Zhen stressed at the conference that food and drug regulatory departments at all levels should realize the significances of Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2010 Edition) and strengthen the publicity and distribution of Chinese Pharmacopoeia, making it work efficiently and driving China's drug standards to progress steadily.

Wu said Chinese Pharmacopoeia is a pharmaceutical code to guarantee the control of drug quality and ensure the safety and effectiveness of drugs for the public. It is the core of the national drug standard system. To attach importance to Chinese Pharmacopoeia is also to attach importance to drug standards and drug quality. Each new edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia represents the updated research level of China's drug standards and represents the pharmaceuticals science & technology and drug supervision level in China. Efforts shall be made in the publicity and implementation of Chinese Pharmacopoeia in addition to revisions in order to give full play of its functions in improving drug standards.
