The State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) held a training course of on-site inspectors for drug registration on July 3-4, 2008. This training course is the first one of its kind held by SFDA after the Requirements for On-site Verification for Drug Registration was issued, and indicates that the team building work of SFDA drug registration on-site inspectors has been initiated.

The revised Provisions for Drug Registration was promulgated and put into force in 2007. The Provisions intensifies the requirements on on-site verification for drug registration. To further detail and implement the requirements of on-site verification for drug registration, SFDA recently issued Requirements for On-site Verification for Drug Registration, which further standardizes the inspection procedures, unifies inspection standards and clarifies inspection tasks.
