To intensify drug supervision and ensure drug safety for the public, the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) organized nationwide appraisal sampling testing for drug quality of some common drugs used in clinical practice according to the 2007 national drug sampling and testing plan. At the same time, SFDA carried out follow-up sampling testing to manufacturers of substandard drugs that were screened out during the sampling testing of 2006 and made special sampling testing to some manufacturers of Chinese Proprietary Medicine. The results were released in the Third National Drug Quality Announcement of 2007 which was issued recently.
