On April 30, the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) announced in a notice that it decided to renew Pharmaceutical Preparation Certificate for Medical Institution nationwide in 2005, which intend to rectify and standardize preparation units of medical institutions, improve the quality of pharmaceutical preparations, strengthen the supervision of pharmaceutical preparation dispending in medical institutions and ensure the safety and effectiveness of pharmaceutical preparations. According to the notice, from January 1, 2006, all Pharmaceutical Preparation Certificates for Medical Institution shall be the new version and the old version shall be abrogated simultaneously.
The notice sets out clear requirements for detailed implementation measures.
This certificate renewal will be implemented according to Provisions for Dispensing Pharmaceutical Preparations in Medical Institutions (SFDA Order No. 18).
