On February 28, 2005, Zheng Xiaoyu, Commissioner of the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA), signed the Order No. 17 of SFDA -- Provisions for Drug Registration, which shall go into effect on May 1, 2005 and Provisions for Drug Registration (trial) shall be abrogated simultaneously. The Provisions comprises sixteen chapters and 211 articles and is SFDA's first department rule revised according to Administrative Licensing Law.
