China National Accreditation Board for Laboratories (CNAL)'s Working Committee on Food Safety was established in Beijing on March 28, 2005.

The newly established committee is a special committee of CNAL and responsible for the policies, guidelines and other work related to Chinese food safety laboratory and testing institution accreditation. It consists of professionals and experts from government food safety supervising agencies and food tesing laboratories. Hui Lusheng, deputy commissioner of the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA), was appointed as the committee chairperson.
